Spring gathering at Lamb’s House

A spring gathering, held within the historic walls of Lamb’s House, brought light, laughter and a table full of beauty to one of Scotland’s finest surviving merchant’s houses. Built in 1610 and now the most significant building of its age in Leith, Lamb’s House has been meticulously restored by GRAS as both family home and studio—reviving its original function as a place where life and work intertwine. Over the years, its renaissance garden, sourced materials and hand-crafted details have become a backdrop for new forms of culture and conviviality.

Last month, the house played host to Lunch Club. This ongoing series is run by Patricia Rodi and Darren Ross; this particular event was co-hosted with Sarah Wood González. Set beneath pine beams and handmade leaded windows, this table was less an event and more a moment: of spring, of hospitality and of what it means to fill a space with joy and presence. Among the considered details were tumblers from The Gathering Hand—designed by GRAS in collaboration with glass artist Edmond Byrne.
